Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2, 2026
This policy explains what information The Getaway on Ranger Creek collects when you visit thegetawayon.com, book a stay, or stay on our property, and what we do with it. We are a small, family-run property in Coalmont, Tennessee. We collect what we need to run the website and host you, and we do not sell or rent your personal information.
Who we are
The Getaway on Ranger Creek is a glamping and cabin property on 18 acres in Coalmont, Tennessee, operated by The Getaway On LLC. When this policy says “we” or “us”, it means us. You can reach us about anything in this policy at bookings@thegetawayon.com or 931-288-4567.
When you browse this website
Like most websites, ours relies on a few outside services. Each one receives some information from your browser when a page loads:
- Google Analytics tells us which pages people read, roughly where visitors come from, and what devices they use. It uses cookies and reports to us in aggregate. We do not use it to identify you.
- Google Ads and the Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram) tell us whether our ads lead to visits and clicks on our booking buttons. They also let Google and Meta show our ads to people who have visited this site before, which is called remarketing. They use cookies and similar technology, and Google and Meta handle that information under their own privacy policies.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces on this site. Your browser requests them from Google, which receives your IP address.
- Our web host keeps standard server logs, including your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested and when, for security and to keep the site running. Its security system may briefly check your browser and set a cookie before a page loads.
Links to other sites, such as state parks, our booking system or Facebook, take you to services with their own privacy policies.
Your choices about cookies and ads
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. This site still works without them.
- You can turn off personalized Google ads in My Ad Center, and opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on.
- You can manage the ads you see on Facebook and Instagram in your Meta ad preferences.
- You can opt out of interest-based ads from many companies at once at optout.aboutads.info.
When you email or call us
If you contact us, we receive your name, your email address or phone number, and whatever you choose to tell us. We use it to answer you and to arrange your stay. Our email is stored by the email provider we use for that purpose.
When you comment on a blog post
Comments ask for your name and email address, and the site also records your IP address and browser type to help catch spam. Your email address is never published. An anonymized string made from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you have a profile picture there. Gravatar’s privacy policy is at automattic.com/privacy. Approved comments and the name you give are public. Ask us and we will delete a comment you left.
When you book a stay
Bookings made from this website happen on our reservation system, which is run by a third-party booking platform. It collects what a reservation needs: your name, email address, phone number, the dates and number of guests, and your payment details. Card payments are handled by that platform’s payment processor. Card numbers never pass through this website.
If you book through Airbnb, VRBO or Booking.com, that company’s privacy policy covers what it collects, and it shares with us what we need to host you, such as your name, dates, number of guests and a way to contact you.
We use booking information to confirm and manage your reservation, send you check-in details and our guest guidebook, answer your questions, process payments and any charges described in our Terms, and keep the records that tax and business law require.
While you stay with us: security cameras
Your privacy matters. We use exterior security cameras for guest safety and property security. Coverage includes the driveway (2 cameras), the parking area (3 cameras), the rock walkways between parking and the units, parts of the grassy yard areas, the pond dam, the chicken coop, and the wooded area between the road and the metal barn (2 cameras). There is also a doorbell camera on the bathhouse porch, facing outward toward the walkway. Every camera stays active for your whole stay, but none of them record continuously. They record short clips only when they detect motion, and the bathhouse doorbell also records when someone presses the button. Audio recording is turned off on every camera within 50 feet of a rental unit. The cameras farther out do capture audio, and so does the bathhouse porch doorbell, so treat that porch as a place where you could be recorded.
No camera views the interior of any unit or of the bathhouse, whether through a door or window or in any other way. No camera is aimed at a deck or a fire pit area.
In short, the places where you’d expect privacy (inside your unit, inside the bathhouse, on your deck or patio, or around your fire pit area) do not have cameras. Public outdoor areas where anyone could see you walking or standing around (the grassy areas, walkways, parking area, driveway) do have cameras.
In addition to helping with safety and security of our property, our cameras also help us monitor predator activity so we can protect our ducks and chickens.
Who we share information with
We share personal information only with the services that help us run the business, and only what each one needs: our web host, our reservation and payment platforms, our email provider, and the analytics and advertising services described above. We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect our guests, our property or ourselves. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
How long we keep it
We keep reservation records for as long as tax and business law requires. Emails stay in our inbox until we no longer need them. Google and Meta keep analytics and advertising data under their own retention settings. Blog comments stay up until the post is removed or you ask us to delete yours.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing bookings@thegetawayon.com. We will answer within 30 days. We may need to keep some records, such as past reservations, where the law requires it.
Children
This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Security
This site runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and we limit access to booking and guest information to the people who need it to host you. No website or service is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we take reasonable care to protect what you share with us.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
