The Geodesic Dome at The Getaway on Ranger Creek was named #7 in the 2024 Glampy Awards, recognized among the top ten most unique glamping destinations in the United States. The award makes sense the moment you walk in. The 700-square-foot dome sits on a raised deck overlooking the pond, with an 8x20-foot window that frames the water and the trees like a painting that changes with every hour of light. Muscovy ducks move across the pond in the morning. Stars come through the window at night. The dome sleeps four, and the view alone makes it hard to leave.
The property itself is 18 pesticide-free acres with two hiking trails, a pond, a creekside meadow with Lady Slippers and ferns, and a resident flock of ducks and chickens that keep the mosquitoes genuinely low for Tennessee woods. Four Border Collies live on the property. They're friendly, non-aggressive, and supervised at all times, though you may occasionally cross paths with them outside. If a dog encounter would be a concern, just let us know ahead of time and we'll do our best to work around it. When you're ready to leave the property, Greeter Falls, Foster Falls, and Savage Gulf State Park are all a short drive. The Caverns underground concert venue is close enough for a night show and a real bed afterward. Bonnaroo is nearby for festival weekends. Most guests are surprised by how much is within reach of a place that feels this far from everything.
