The Glamping Tent is the closest you’ll get to actual camping at The Getaway on Ranger Creek. A canvas tent on a raised wooden platform, tucked deep in the shade of the woods. This glamping tent rental in Tennessee runs 130 square feet inside, with a 130-square-foot deck (half covered, half open) right outside the front flap. Sleeps 2 on a queen memory-foam mattress, with a pendant light overhead and the woods all around. Available spring through fall.
The Glamping Tent is a real tent. Canvas walls, fly overhead, screens that let the woods in clear, all the actual sounds of the forest at night. The difference from regular camping is what’s inside: a queen memory-foam mattress with bedside lamps and USB chargers, a pendant light overhead, a small fridge, a microwave, and your own deck a step outside.
At 130 square feet, the tent is one open room. A queen memory-foam mattress with bedside lamps and USB chargers sits at the back, with a pendant light hanging from the ceiling overhead. A dorm-sized refrigerator and microwave inside the tent. There’s no sink, stove, or bathroom in the tent.
The bathroom is in our bathhouse, a 41-second walk from the tent. Private toilets with large tile showers, plus a Keurig coffee bar with a really nice selection of pods. We provide dishes, utensils, silverware, pots, pans, and cups for tent guests there as well. It’s not in-tent plumbing, but it’s a few steps away and the bathhouse is meticulously maintained.
A 1500-watt space heater warms the tent in cool weather, and a fan helps in warm weather. We provide bedding and towels.
The 130-square-foot deck runs along the front of the tent. Half covered, half open to the sky and the trees. String lights for after dark. A few steps down from the deck, you’ll find your propane grill and fire pit at ground level. We provide the firewood and propane.
This is a tent in the woods, not a cabin. There’s no central heat or air conditioning, and inside temperatures closely mirror what’s happening outside. The 1500-watt space heater takes the chill off in cool weather; the fan helps in warm. The fly overhead and the deep shade help in summer heat, but if you want reliable climate control, this isn’t the right unit.
Heads up on the heater: it uses most of the tent’s available electric. Please don’t bring additional space heaters or heated blankets, as they will trip the breaker.
The Glamping Tent is open spring through fall. Closed for the winter season.
Bugs are part of life in the woods. Ladybugs, beetles, the occasional spider, and flying insects sometimes find their way in. The chickens and Muscovy ducks roaming the property keep mosquito and tick numbers genuinely low.
The Getaway sits in Coalmont on the South Cumberland Plateau, central to the waterfalls, trailheads, and music venues that draw people to this corner of Tennessee. The Caverns underground concert venue is 19 miles away. Greeter Falls trailhead is 7 miles, Foster Falls is 12 miles, and Savage Gulf State Park is 13 miles. Bonnaroo in Manchester is 26 miles. Chattanooga is about an hour south, Nashville is about an hour and 45 minutes north, and Fall Creek Falls is about an hour northeast.
The Glamping Tent rental is a popular pick for hikers, festival-goers, and outdoor people who want their evenings around a fire and their mornings inside the woods, not behind a pane of glass.
